For clinicians

Refer her in one text. We do the rest.

The Iron Planning Service is a free navigation service for women with iron deficiency. You send one link during the visit. A navigator takes it from there: insurance, funding, scheduling and follow-up, and reports back to your practice.

How referral works

Three steps. One of them is yours.

01

During the visit

You send the link

A templated text from your EHR to the patient, pointing to femfoundation.org/enroll. Nothing else to fill in.

02

Under a minute

She enrolls

Name, date of birth and email. She receives a confirmation that her iron navigation has begun.

03

Nine days, on average

We navigate

Insurance verification, coverage or Foundation funding, scheduling and follow-up, with a named navigator throughout.

What you get back

You will always know where she is.

A confirmation when she enrolls

A note when the infusion is complete

One navigator, one contact, for any question

A note when the infusion is scheduled

Follow-up labs shared with your practice

No paperwork, prior authorizations or callbacks

Clinical thresholds and treatment decisions rest with the treating hematologist. The service does not replace your judgment; it removes the loop between your referral and her infusion.

Who to refer

If you see it every week, send it.

Menstruating women with symptoms

Fatigue, breathlessness, hair loss, ice craving, restless legs, or a ferritin your lab calls normal.

Pregnant and post-partum patients

Low ferritin at any trimester, or anemia after delivery. IV iron in pregnancy is published, with no adverse pregnancy events across 2,971 infusions.

Anyone who has failed oral iron

Side effects, non-adherence, or no response after three months.

Clinician contact

One inbox for referrals, results and questions.
