Privacy Policy
Fem Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 93-3962070) based at 8255 South Dixie Highway, Miami, Florida 33143. This policy explains what information we collect through femfoundation.org, our Iron Planning Service at crm.femfoundation.org, and our emails and text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, preferred language and the messages you send us, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, make a donation or enroll in the Iron Planning Service.
- Iron Planning Service information. If your clinic refers you and you enroll, we hold the details needed to arrange your treatment, such as your contact details, your referral and treatment order, relevant lab results, and the updates and messages we exchange with you.
- Donations. Donations are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email address and the amount of your gift. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information. Our website host and service providers automatically collect standard technical data, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, to run and secure our services. We do not use advertising trackers.
Mailing list. If you join Fem Foundation or sign up for our emails on femfoundation.org, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, the interests you tick, the page you signed up on and the date. We use this only to send the emails and invitations you asked for. The list is kept separately from the Iron Planning Service and is never linked to a patient's case. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email, and we will stop emailing you.
How we use information
- To run the Iron Planning Service: contacting treatment centers on your behalf, sharing your referral, order and labs with them, and keeping you updated on your case.
- To answer your messages and support requests.
- To send newsletters and updates you have asked for.
- To process donations and send receipts.
- To operate, secure and improve our website and services, and to meet our legal obligations.
Text messages
We only send text messages to people who have agreed to receive them, for example by ticking the text message box when enrolling in the Iron Planning Service. Our texts are about your case: updates, reminders and replies from our care team. We do not send marketing or fundraising texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your mobile information is never shared for marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver our text messages.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- To coordinate your care. With the treatment centers we contact for you and with your referring clinic, as needed to arrange and follow up on your treatment. You agree to this when you enroll.
- With service providers. With companies that work for us under contract and only for that purpose: website hosting (Webflow), secure hosting and database services for the Iron Planning Service and our mailing list (Vercel and Supabase), email delivery, including our newsletters (Resend), text messaging (Twilio), payments (Stripe) and online forms (Microsoft).
- When the law requires it. To comply with law or legal process, or to protect the safety of any person.
How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections, sign-in for everyone who uses our systems, access limited to team members who need it, and activity logs. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our safeguards regularly.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including while your case is open, and for any period the law requires. After that we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email.
- Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@femfoundation.org. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.
Health information
Fem Foundation is not your healthcare provider. Your medical care is delivered by your clinic and your treatment center, which have their own privacy practices for the medical records they keep. We use the information you share with us for the Iron Planning Service only as described in this policy.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
